Building a new gaming rig (it's in my signature). Parts are ordered but have not yet arrived, anyhow: Can I set the clocks to whatever the EVGA superclocked edition is on stock volts? Didn't see the point in paying more for a slightly out of the box default clock.

Backstory on coming back to nVidia: My current build (ATI 5850) has had an up and down battle with driver bugs in relation to dual screen monitors since 2009 (To this day they still haven't fixed dual display cursor corrupt) and since before that I had a 9800GTX+ and no driver issues with dual displays, I thought it'd be good to give nvidia another try.

Thanks
Yukirin

The super clocked cards are cherry picked bu you might be lucky and receive a holy card, but why switch cards, the 5800 series is pretty good, what drivers are u using?
Also if you are selling, how much?

I am giving my current gaming pc (system labeled 'kyoto') to my father since he is interested in PC Gaming, so that's why I ordered a new system.

The cursor corruption with dual displays have been around since 5xx launched and will not likely be fixed.

Well good luck getting a golden card then, don't overvolt too much as gtx 570's are notorious for frying =(

I wasn't aware there was another team besides green.

Is the 570 reference? If you only plan to take it to SC settings you should be fine, if you're looking to squeeze every ounce of performance that chip has to offer, return it for a non reference "Power" edition.

Congrats on the whole new gaming rig. Just put one together myself and it's an awesome feeling. I started my project five months ago.

After you get yours together, you'll have a 90 day period with EVGA to step up for a small difference in price to a GTX 580 if you should choose. It'll give you time to save up if you want that option. Just make sure you register your card and upload reciept within 30 days of registering.

Also come over to the Nvidia GeForce GTX 500 Series Owners Club and join up. The thread is very helpful of members and you can get a lot of your answers. BTW there is 125 GTX 570 owners on our thread at an avg price $360 per = $45,000 worth of cards and no one is complaining over there about fried cards because we know what we're doing, great cards.

Good luck bud.

Not sure if I should even try to OC it at stock voltage after reading all the threads. I was under the assumption that SC versions just had modified clocks via BIOS and the 'cherry picking' was just fluff.

Thoughts?
