What? Are You serious? OMG dude....

OP yes You'll be able to run physX with 9500GT and it will NOT slow down Your PC. I'm using GTX260 Lightning as PhysX processor for my 6950 TwinFrozr III and it runs excellent.

Dude...

He has an ATI GPU!

The graph you're posting is with 2xNV GPUs!
There, the stonger GPU can easilty make all PhysX computations on it's own.
An ATI card Can't!

In an ATI system, the CPU will have to do those computations, which is 100x slower.
This graph is soo off topic

I am 99% sure itll bottleneck.

The OP should just try it, he has nothing to lose apart from time.

You are using a slower main card and a much!!faster physx card than the OP.
Its irrelevant.

In an ATI system it simply does not have physx. It is a nvidia feature and cannot be run on a system without an nvidia gpu unless you hack the installer and even then you can only use the CPU option.

You don't seem to get the point.

Random PhysX game

AMD 6870 main GPU + NO PhysX GPU
PhysX disabled - 80 FPS
PhysX enabled - can't or 10 FPS

AMD 6870 main GPU + 9500 PhysX GPU
PhysX disabled - 80 FPS (still)
PhysX enabled - 30 FPS.

Where is your bottleneck???

Take a good looooong look at those and tell me which is better.
In EVERY PhysX game, you can manually disable PhysX.

Ok, let me break it down.

If you *enable* PhysX in the game,
Having a slow PhysX card is 100% better than having No PhysX card.

If you *disable* PhysX in the game,
Having a slow PhysX card does not lower your FPS, because it's not being used.

There is your bottleneck right there
From 80 to 30. Some poeple on OCN need to go back to school.

NO you dont get it. You have changed your argument from "it wont slow you down" to what I was trying to explain to you.

Even by your own made up statistics, would you say playing a game at a 50fps drop worth it? Just for the extra eye candy?
I dont think so.
Would you say having 80% of your gpu doing nothing for phyx worth it?
I dont think.

And a nvidia card+ physx card (with the card doing the Physics) will be comparable to a ati card + physx card as the main card has nothing to do with the fps drop caused by the physx card doing the work.

You make no sence.

I only hope the OP has a higher IQ than you. Can't process much?

Listen, mate, it's really really simple.

If in a particular game PhysX slows you down, you disable it.

BUT

Running *with ingame PhysX* with PhysX card is always faster than *without* PhysX card
Running *without ingame PhysX* has absolutely the same FPS.

EVEN SIMPLER:

NO PhysX: 80 FPS -> 80 FPS
PhysX: 10 FPS -> 30 FPS
