PhysX on 9500gt - Page 5

+ it's not ADDING the 9500 that drops his Framerates
It is ENABLING PhysX that drops his framerates.

Enabling PhysX without 9500GT drops the framerates from 100 to 10.
Enabling PhysX with 9500GT drops the framerates from 100 to 30+ (depends on the game).
So it is better to have the 9500GT.

You can't call a software feature "a bottleneck",
and you can't call a piece of hardware, that performs an unique function "a bottleneck".
That's not what bottleneck is.

-If you want PhysX and do have a 9500GT, you game @30+ FPS.

-If you don't want PhysX, you game @ as much as you GPU can carry either way.

so how does your continued insults go to prove anything except that you are flailing for credibility whilst digging further into disrepute?
Still not one vaiable piece of proof....
Do you use physx?
Furthermore how is using cards in SLi and enabling physx on a secondary or third card wrong?facepalm doesn't even begin to cover that one.
i would stop throwing stones really, the glasshouse isn't the place for those actions....

For 3 pages now I've been trying to explain you something as simple as why leafs fall down and not up.
You started the insults, so be ashamed and shut up.

You asked for proof, I gave you proof. What do you want more?

where is the proof?
a singular post with no graphs from '08?
hardly credible?
I am only ashamed that i came to this thread to help the OP and i am being trolled by someone who is showing less intelligence and comprehension than my 8 month old son.
thats not an insult that is what you have displayed here today.

Ok, Shut up and let's start over.
I dare you, Talk on topic, if you can.

Having PhysX disabled yelds Identical frame rate no matter if 9500GT is present or not.

re read your trolling and the answer will become clear...
Dude...

He has an ATI GPU!

The graph you're posting is with 2xNV GPUs!
There, the stonger GPU can easilty make all PhysX computations on it's own.
An ATI card Can't!

In an ATI system, the CPU will have to do those computations, which is 100x slower.
This graph is soo off topic

^the relevance of this too?
the post states in bold: PhysX on 9500gt
not ATI physx...
the 9500 does physx and the ati does the rest, the graph shows, quite clearly that a 9500 with ANY current main gpu is wasted.

No, this is not what the Graph shows
re-read the graph

The graph compares PhysX calculated on 9500GT and image processed on 480 VS all done on the 480. If you put OP's GPU on the place of the 480, the graph is no longer the same, because OP's card is whole different level, it can't do what the 480 does! It's not comparable

What the graphs shows, is that 9500GT with ANY current NVIDIA GPU is wasted.
But not with ATI.

And this is the OP:

OP has an ATI GPU! Here's the relevance

Get it now?

And this is where I explain exactly where the difference is:

On an Nvidia system, 1x 480 + 1x 9500
PhysX ENABLED

If you run only the 480, that card processes both the image and PhysX.
It is a very fast card, so you get 80FPS.
The game runs at 80FPS

If you run both cards, then the 480 processes only the image, with rate of 100 FPS.
The 9500 processes the PhysX with rate of 30 FPS.
The game runs at 30FPS

PhysX DISABLED

If you run only the 460, it processes only the image, with rate of 100 FPS.
The game runs at 100 FPS.

If you run both cards, 460 processes only the image, with rate of 100 FPS
The 9500 stays idle.
The game runs at 100 FPS.

On an AMD/ATI System, 1x 6870, 1x 9500
PhysX ENABLED

If you run only the 6870, EITHER the game does NOT run at all, OR
The 6870 processes the image at rate of 100 FPS, the CPU processes the game and the PhysX at rate of 5-10 FPS.
The game runs at 5-10 FPS.

If you run both cards, 6870 processes the image, 9500 processes PhysX at rate 30FPS.
Game runs @ 30FPS

PhysX DISABLED

If you run only 6870, it processes only the image @100 FPS.
Game runs @100 FPS.

If you run both cards, 6870 processes the image, 9500 stays idle.
Game *still* runs @100 FPS.
You can only compare PhysX enabled VS PhysX enabled
and
PhysX disabled VS PhysX disabled.

You can't mix them. Logic doesn't allow. Reason. If you mix them, it makes no sense anymore.

Seems the only point is the one on your forehead, the OP said is it worth it to run a 9500 for dedicated physx.

I posted a graph showing that it wasn't,and it can (and did in that game-affect frame rates in a negative way).
Then i added that physx isn't all that in the game benched in the graph anyway.
i hope you comprehend so far.

Then i added it is only worth it if you have a couple of nvidia cards in SLI as you can max usage of the lesser used card (second or third)by enabling physx on the least used card thus getting the most bang for your buck and not wasting money/psu output/heat on something that isn't used fulltime.

I hope you are still with as this is nothing short of tedious...

Then you went on with your random scaling and figures that did not pertain to the screenshot you have shown and proceed to insult anyone who doesnt see things your way, though you did bring no proof to your ramblings.

Yes, I know, the problem is- the graph you posted is not applicable in OP's case!

In all tests performed when that graph was made, PhysX is enabled.

If you perform the exactly same test, PhysX enabled, only not with the 480, but with OP's GPU - a 6870, you will see a very different graph.

Only 6870 will do 10FPS, 6870 + 9500 will do more, 30+.

This is like comparing 2 GPUs - a 3850 and a 6850.
Only for the first one you use 3DMark 02, for the second one you use 3DMark 11 and Eyefinity.
Of course the score (fps) will be lower. But it brings way more to the screen.

AXIOM:

When you compare 2 hardware setups, you ALWAYS use identical test methods.
Either PhysX enabled ALL the time, or PhysX disabled ALL the time.
You don't mix them.
Period.
