MIVE C3/C6 Report Question

In relation to this thread: http://www.overclock.net/intel-general/999505-new-build-freezing-win7-ultimate-advice.html

A question... I havent done any overclocking yet on the system as I've just been trying to get it stable. Yesterday it had its longest uptime so far of 11 hours. This seems to be due to disabling the C3/C6 report in BIOS.

I get that the reports are related to putting the CPU into deeper sleep modes depending on system need etc... but what I am wondering is:

Is there something wrong with the motherboard hardware if I have to set these to disabled just to get the system to run regularly? Will I have trouble doing any overclocking down the line? Is turning these off potentially burning out other components over time?

Thanks!

You will sacrifice turbo boost but you wont have to deal with your cpu throttling back and forth. These are power saving features, Intel's hat-tip to the greens, not overheat shutdown controls. I assume you will be overclocking so losing turbo is not an issue.
