CF HD5870 problem

Thread Starter
I bought a new computer few weeks ago and im having problem with the crossfire , ive updated everything like i should the lastest drivers , directx , profiles everything and it shows like my crossfire is working but infact when i check in gpu-z the temp always stay at 40 on 2nd card and always on 600-150 never going 800-1200 like the 1st one and i alttab quickly after the 1st card is at 80 temp and still 2nd on 43-45 never been used , always on idle.

also on crysiswarhead when i use crossfirex i get 20-60 fps on 1920-1080 res and the game keeps getting stuck like massivly, every step i make i get a freeze and when i disbale crossfire and use just 1 card its on 25-30 fps but runing smoothly and playable.. how can 1 card run is good with lower fps and 2 card with higher fps get stuck every step?

just to prove crossfire is kinda half working heres benchmark but 2nd card still always on idle

Are they identical cards?

And update your system details so we can see if anything else is the issue; Maybe CPU is bottleneck? Or your PSU is not supplying enough power?

You can enable the Xfire logo to appear on games which support Xfire just to confirm that Xfire is in fact being triggered.

my cpu is oc'ed to 4.0 ghz and my cards are identical ..

the supply is like 750 W i dont know which company though..

i just know that 1 card run smoothly on 20-30 fps and 2nd is getting stuck every 1 sec for 3-4 sec and its impossible to play even though it shows 60 fps its not 60.. more like 4.

my motherboard is GA-890XA-UD3

I tried putting the logo from radeon pro and it barely shows the 2nd card being used and when i switch to gpu-z rly quickly 1st card on 80 temp 2nd on 40 as usual..and i dont believe it went down from 80 to 40 in 1 sec so..

and im sure crossfire is working cuz with 1 ard as i said i get juts 20-30 fpos and run ok.. with two its 30-60 fps but stuck.
