Dude..... I got a dell...

Thread Starter
Alright knock me all you want but I think I got a pretty good price on a dell laptop after some negotiating with them.

Anyways apparently after talking with the sales reps(emails saved for future reference) I can change the hard drive to a solid state without voiding any warranties. I'm assuming laptops can be fit with the 2.5 120gb intel 510 drives?

Which one and how much?

Dell business line laptops will last you at least 3-4 years. Well that's how long my dell's have lasted me/my family anyway. Now i'm on a dell vostro 1320.

Which one did you get? I recently received an E5520 but maybe should have waited for a better deal. The backlit keyboard and FHD screen are nice though. SSD will be very nice.

My fiancee and I rock the Dell Studio 15 and we love it. I probably got overkill on my laptop (i7, upgraded to 8GB RAM, etc.) but once you build it you are stuck with it. Not like a desktop when it comes to upgrading.

xps 15 with a 2630QM processor, 525 Nvidia gfx card (not gaming with this), 6gb ddr3, Blue ray reader and writer, 1920 X 1080 resolution (dunno if I got the facial recognition or not). Comes with the system disc so I won't be screwing around trying to find one. 3 year advance warranty which includes accidental damage.

1,264.19 before taxes

I'm sure a few of you might send me elsewhere to look at better prices but without epp and some negotiating it would have been around 1800 for this.
(example a sager laptop with similar specs without a no dead warranty would cost 1312)

Had troubles with an asus 3-4 years back and will never touch another asus laptop again. My mom had a dell laptop die on her around 5-8 years ago and apparently it was the motherboard. Long story short they sent someone over and replaced the motherboard on our table in front of us. If I have issues I rather have someone in front of me seeing what i'm seeing.

My moms work got her a 2k CDN laptop 3 years ago, sure it's running...but barely and freezes soooo often. Not to mention the battery, or lack of. You can use it for about 10 min then it dies.

My Inspiron 1525 gets about 35 minutes and dies. About 2 and a half years old.
