NZXT Gamma or Rosewill Challenger?

Thread Starter
I'm building a budget gaming rig and wanted peoples opinions on these two cases. Both are very highly reviewed, and I like the aesthetics of both so that's not a factor.

With the Challenger, it comes with 3 fans, which should be alright for me. The Gamma is cheaper, but would require me to buy my own fans. I'd try to get something quieter than stock (maybe 3x120s) so...

Just kinda up in the air. I'm going to be running a 5770 (maybe a 280 if I can get ahold of it,) so the case has to fit that card.

Thanks!

I can't really help you choose as I think the Gamma is just ugly as sin but I wanted to vouch for the Rosewill's build quality. I got a Rosewill Destroyer and it is sturdy as a brick with plenty of expandability and 8 fans running. So don't let anyone knock you on the Rosewill assuming its build quality will be low!

I would go with the Rosewill Challenger. I was actually going to go with the Challenger instead of my current Antec 300, but was afraid my HSF would not fit since I believe the Challenger is more narrow than the 300. I think the challenger is a great case nonetheless. Painted black inside, lots of fan slots for airflow, cutouts on mobo tray for cable management.

I just put together my cousins pc in the Gamma case yesterday. It's a less expensive case and it is well designed. I really liked working with it. However it only comes with one fan. It has white blades and is quiet so that's a plus. I recommend it.

If it's an ATX form factor PSU, it will fit in any ATX case wink.gif

I prefer the shape of the Challenger to the Gamma, but prefer the satiny finish of the Gamma to the glossy Challenger.

They are pretty much identical (same factory?) with the same cable management cut-outs, cable tie punch outs, CPU Backplate access hole, side and top panels etc except that the Challenger has some tool-less brackets on the 5.25 bays, LED Fan, and they have different front panels.

OP's choice on aesthetics really.

FYI the Gamma is $45 and the Challenger comes to $50 after shipping and promo's on Newegg at the moment.

If you're really up in the air, go with NZXT. Their support is awesome and as long as it is under warranty - free replacement parts! Yep, you heard me right. I broke my front panel a couple months into owning my M59, so I wrote customer support. No questions asked I had a new one at my door 1 week after writing the first email. had it for about 6 months now and I cracked my side panel. back to customer support I go asking after a replacement, it will be sent out by the end of the week. Go get that from Rosewill..... I dare ya!

P.S.- The breakage was cause I'm hard on my case, not cause of poor construction.

i can vouch for both. i had a rosewill blackbone case first and it took a 3 foot fall on top of my son. fall was enouph to rip heatsink off the cpu but only minimal damage to case.

as for nzxt i now have m59 and i love it. as far as service goes we will see if i ever get my 15 dollar rebate but never had to deal with customer service.

so basicly either would be good choice but i say go with m59. its way more roomie then my rosewill was!!
