I think this is a good guess as well.

Try taking out all unnecessary parts (case fans) etc. and set up your computer outside the case. If it still shuts down, it's not a grounding/shorting issue.

Yeah, since he replaced the PSU and is not trying the power button; the next thing to concentrate on is probably the system board.

I would say check all your connections and make sure they are tight, but you just installed a new PSU and probably did that already.

You could take the board out and look at the back to see if any solder is loose too.

Too add onto this, is this a recent build? If so when you built the machine did you use all the standoffs when installing the motherboard? Does the mobo move at all if you gently try to move it?

Did you see where he already replaced the psu and all of his system specs? 500w is like way over what he needs and it is a good psu brand.

I will try the power button BWG Just tomorrow with daylight and will see if it helps or not. Just might take some time to notice as sometimes the computer is running fine for a week or two without any turn off. Anyway it will be my first try.
As for grounding/shorting issue: don't think so as the MoBo is placed in case for several years by now and as for others.. yes with the change of PSU I have placed all cables again, so don't think the problem is there either. And with the old PSU I have tried to disconnect all not needed components to no avail.
I really hope it's just the button and btw to repeat my previous question: if both power and reset buttons are 'fault' how else I can try to start the computer? I guess there is no other button to use instead of those two?

A new switch, a screwdriver, your finger. lol Touch the + and - and power on.

EDIT: Finger might not work, but it is funny.
