[PCgamer] World of Warcraft’s first subscription drop: are you still playing? - Page 11

Game got really really boring, my entire guild had a meeting the other night and we all voted to take one huge break from the game. I canceled my subscription last night and have been playing the Rift trial.

WoW is just not fun right now, happens with every expansion for me. They don't release their content fast enough.

After Hellgate London closed its servers me and my guys went to try wow just after WotLK came out. played it and raided and beat the LK. then it got boreing but wait here comes a new expansion "the whole world gets destroyed and becomes anew" Day 1 got server first mining. my GF got Server first Alchemy and Herbalism... got to 85, *** im a pally with 120K health!?!? warlocks with 90K health!?!?!? oh and my buddy was able to farm FARM gold by selling items to get 50K in about 2 weeks so that all 4 of use could have our choppers.... yea they flodded the market, made healing a pain, gave everyone way to much health. So i left, guild fell apart my buddies left and 90% of our guild (100+) left the game. I play EVE now... 4 accounts each paid for each month via PLEX. my GF plays RIFT, and my other 2 guys play BFBC2. were all glad to be done with that game.

on a side note me, my G/F, and my two buddies are back to playing Hellgate London!!!! VPN + Japanese Beta = American's and Euro's can play again!!!

Cataclysm has alienated 2 big groups of people that are likely a big chunk of the 600,000 to quit
1) adult casual player- random grouping in cataclysm is 75% pointless. Your experience will be something like this. Tank grabs more than he can handle with no discernible strategy, people die, group kicks healer, repeat. There are more than enough idiots to ensure that your overall gameplay experience will be negative. Wrath content was easy enough (non heroic), that most groups could fumble through the content. When stuff dies, nobody complains.
2) loot whore- it makes people feel good to get stuff. Everybody has a little loot whore in them. Unfortunately for some, there is a return of the dreaded process of "progression". A loot whore will not tolerate wipe night(s). These people will disappear for the first month of any new content and come back once everything is on farm. If wipe night is still happening a month later, they usually just quit.

As a former priest I know exactly what you are talking about. I got kicked from so many PUG groups because the stupid tank didn't know what he was doing. Playing a healer with PUGs is one of the most frustrating experiences ever. At least as a healer you can find a new group almost instantly. I always loved how I could simply say "Lvl X priest LFG" and 10 PMs would come in instantly.

i didn't say free to play why charge so much for the initial disc. my intial argument is play time i prefer a month of play time not month to play, thanks for reading.
