[PCgamer] World of Warcraft’s first subscription drop: are you still playing? - Page 4

I started playing WoW 3 month ago.
I'm kinda addicted to it, as my friends a year back when they were going for the lich king.
I like to gear my character and all the achievements.
I like the reward for doing achievements althought I find it stupid since I'm new I don't have any cool drake -_-' ...
A 358 Fire mage moving around on a x53 rocket (thanks to chinese ppl) -_-""""
Anyways. I just hope they will improve the gameplay a little bit so that new player may find some kind of non heavy gamer reward ... (style defeat 902382 bosses to get a drake ...)

I'm leveling my second toon, a 75 prot pally and I love so far tanking.
They got my money.

I played off and on from TBC until about a year before Cata hit. When Cata came out I tried that for maybe 2 months before it got entirely too boring. I won't be picking up any expansions to that game anymore. Right now I'm just waiting on The Old Republic.

I've stuck with other MMOs for 5+ years but just got into WoW very recently. While the falloff isn't too surprising (maybe people finished content fast, maybe they're bored, etc.), I don't know if I'd be with WoW today had I started with it 6+ years ago. But for the moment though, I am having a blast. But still, 11+ million subscribers has to be kept in perspective. Some MMOs have 600,000 subscribers in total!

i stopped playing january 13th this year. a very, very large amount of players are tired of it and have been for a while. the problem is that the MMO scene is so bad that there are few real options. wow was a rare mmo in that it was objectively good(gameplay wise 7 years ago), it was finished and had things to do besides level up at launch. the bugs were nowhere near as bad and it did not lack content.

RIFT is also a finished product, which is why people see it as a good alternative. really, the core gameplay that everyone is tired of is the same in rift, but it gives the illusion that it is something new.

i think it'll hold some people over until an mmo that is actually good and different and feels like it was made for/in the present day comes about.

I'm still playing. Not as much as when ICC was still current, but I'm still having fun. My main (hunter) is pretty much done what I wanted from it, but I enjoy leveling alts and playing different roles. I've only played 2 years (I think) so I'm not going to be burnt out like the people that have played since vanilla.

Firelands will be coming soon too, so that should rejuvenate the game.
