EVGA 570 SLI temperatures. - Page 2

Have you spaced the cards apart? leaving an extra PCI-X slot in the middle? I have my GTX 580's sandwiched together and have 4-7C temp differences... I have no choice to space with my setup as thats my motherboard and cases form factor...

I have 2 free slots in the middle; nevermind because the issue is NOT WITH TOP CARD, but with ONE of them and it does't make any diffrence if its fitted on the top or bottom. Just one of them its always warmer no matter what.

LOL well that answers your question... apart from the obviously blowing with an aircan, i'd say 5 C hotter is pretty significant. Have you tried one at a time for verification of the hotter load temps?

Not now; anyway this card does not cross 77 deg now after I've adjusted fan speeds via evga precision.

Double check Nvidia settings in control panel... Power Management is set to adaptive by default and set it to 'Performance' and also single display performance mode if you have not already set these... Made a difference on my machine as the graphics cards were being 'throttled'... I recommend this on any nvidia sli setup!

"Thermal interface material". The stuff you put between a cpu or gpu and the heatsink.

edit- missed the second half of your question- getting the material off can be really easy or a pain. Two ways I have used are 99% rubbing alcohol (no residue) and q-tips or Arctic Clean. The Arctic product you can literally watch dissolve the material, works fantastic.

Sorry for the delay getting these posted, I thought my batteries were just dead but my camera was the problem- it died. Just picked up a new one this afternoon and took these.

The first pick shows how far off from the mounting holes on the case the fan sits. The second pic shows where I mounted the second screw through an air hole. It may look weird, but it's been running this way for over a month and I have had no problems. The fans run very smooth and very quiet, moving tons of air. I actually run mine off a Zalman 6-fan speed controller and at about 80% you can't hear it over the rest of the fans but it moves far more air.

One card running 5C hotter than the other is not worth even thinking about to be perfectly honest. I would also say that in reality, it IS always the top card that's running 5C hotter, you just aren't realizing that's what's happening.

But either way, put the hotter card in the lower slot, and plug your monitor into the cooler-running card.
