i7 in laptop 1645 bad experience

Thread Starter
anyhow, I'm curious what about Desktop version of newer Intel or AMD CPUs

my Dell XPS 1645 Throttles a lot. and it's really suck

not only during gaming but in any heavy CPU utilization (coding/audio editing ). it constantly runs 0.9 -->1.6Ghz unless I ThrottleStop it. I never seen it running at 2.2Ghz in turbo mode.

so Apps / CPU deciding how much power I need to run my apps and from time to time this thing just laaaags. I would love switch that under clocking feature once and for all

What about Desktop version of i7 or Phenom II

Sorry for angry post

Well, any cpu will work at normal temps, because you can use any heatsink you like, but on laptops you are limited to a small cooling system that doesn't have room to improve. You could always clean the vents or reapply TIM.
