Phenom Temps

Thread Starter
I am wondering if my max temp is to high. I have read you shouldn't let get to 60C. I just would like a 2nd thought on the matter. I am running cool n quiet to keep my temps down when I am not gaming. Here's a screenshot of my temps

TMP is a motherboard temp sensor if i remember right?

Try downloading core temp.

I was using core temp, but I unlocked an extra core. So its kinda useless. the TMPIN0 is my cpu temp. I know because it matches the same temp amd overdrive gives me for my cpu temp.

yeah you really dont want to be over 55* for stability sake. it may seem to run fine but over 55 can cause problems. is 4ghz really important enough to you to run 1.52 volts on a 24/7 overclock ? i have the same motherboard and i know i never would run over 1.481v in mine and my opinion is " thats pushing it"

People need to STOP saying keep it under 55°C If it's stable with anything under 62°C it's fine. It's just that there might be some instability above 55°C on SOME chips.

@OP if that's your max load temp then it's fine

i guess you didnt read all my post...over 55* CAN cause problems.
id also like to know if he ended up stressing it a proper amount of time.
and i still stand on the opinion that 1.52v on our board is pushing its limits.
do you have some heatsinks on those mosfets ? i know youre only getting airflow on them if you added a small fan to blow on them. asus uses quality components but everything has its limits...

I did have a fan on them but when I got my newest CPU cooler I had to stop using it because it a big cooler thinking about getting the antec h2o 620. And I ran prime95 for about 5 or 6 hours with no errors.

5 or 6 hours of prime isnt long enough. it doesnt test with large ffts until after 12 hours they say. ive both restarted and bluescreened after 16 before.
pushing all of that voltage, you need some cooling on the mosfets. asus may give you a new board but they wont replace anything else that gets fried if they go.

It's getting to hot in my place as summer is right around the corner so I under clocked my CPU. I also just bought a asus crosshair IV formula. And I will be getting an antec h2o 620. I have been wanting a new board, but I wanted a better one.

Quite frankly, I don't care if my 1055T went to 65C.... my failed attempt at lapping is a deathly price for my CPU.... darn lapping mistake *smacks head*
