HAF 922 + Hyper212 + SideFan

Thread Starter
Hey guys.

I just bought a HAF 922 off of a Ebay seller for cheap as dirt.

I wanted to know if with my Hyper212 if I will be able to fit a 200mm side-fan made by cooler master...

Also, if so, should I have the 200mm fan pulling air in or pushing air out?

Probably can.
Newegg says the case is 10 inches wide?
The 212+ is about 6 1/5 inches if you include the motherboard.
The fan would be an intake.

I think you shouldn't get the fan cause it will just bounce off the heatsink.

But it makes it light up and look purdy

Hmm.

Maybe I should just go for the refurbished CM 690 V1 for $40 on the Cooler Master site.

It does fit. I have 922 also and I put my 200mm fan on the side but I removed it and put 2 120mm instead. My fans are blowing inside ::

Do you notice a different performance in cooling?

I think I'm just gonna get the CM Sniper refurbished for $10 more.

If you want it for aesthetics then, you want it for aesthetics
It'll help a bit I guess.
Won't cool directly, but it will lower ambients in the case

It may fit, but I'm not entirely sure. You need to take into account the motherboard tray has some space behind it as well.

The side fan will be beneficial if it does fit. Since the 212+ is a tower cooler, the mosfets/vrms and RAM aren't getting airflow on them as well as they would with a downward push type of cooler such as the GeminII S or stock coolers.

It's important to cool those components when overclocking, which a lot of people forget about. Also it'll cool the north bridge if you are on an AMD or X58 system.

Personally I'd go with a HAF922 and a Corsair H50/60/70 or the Antec equivalent. That way you get optimal CPU cooling, but your side fan will take care of the rest.

+rep for corrections.
Didn't think of those.
I'm pretty sure he's on a budget judging by the fact that he's buying refurbished cases so closed watercooling loop is out of mind.
