Steam sales FTW. Havent even paid $50 for a game in a long long time ... and I got Crysis 2 and portal 2 when they first came out.

people are complaining about full price of a game when most games drop at least $10 one or two months later.
They must be talking about next gen consoles? Because sony couldn't afford to drop the price and xbox's are already quite cheap

DLC in general isn't very expensive either, but I've hardly bought any this generation because I know when I'm getting ripped off.

Gamers just keep giving in. What's a few bucks here and there? Used to be an entire game on the disc. Nowadays people are happy to pay full price for half of the game, buy the rest as DLC starting the day after it releases.
I agree with the DLC and unfinished game comment

But people who don't agree with paying for Xbox LIVE, have never had it. It's getting really old seeing people say "I can play PS3 for free" like it is even comparable... It is not.

You get what you pay for. Waiting 10 seconds for a game of zombies vs 10 minutes on my PS3.

The party chat option and the seperate MS chat servers alone blows the PS3 out of the water. PS3 feels empty and dead online in comparison, and the problems with matchmaking/connection/hosting are so abundant it's not even funny while the 360 = smooth sailing.

I buy all the Triple-A PS3 exclusives... And still end up playing Xbox LIVE whenever I get on. PS3 is practically a single player console compared to the Xbox.

True story.

Until all the cheapo's pay for a couple months of LIVE and actually USES it... There's nothing to say. Hopping on at your friends house is NOT enough to be considered using LIVE at all (although you will notice a huge difference in only 5 minutes). However, you CAN hop on PSN for 5 minutes and experience all it has to offer. The messaging, invite system, friends list, matchmaking, lack of chat outside of games, and lack of unification of services outside of each individual game put the Xbox leaps and bounds beyond the PS3 online.

See, you don't even understand it.

You are paying for the chat servers and moderation.

PSN is not moderated in almost anyway, which is why cheating/hacking is incredibly abundant in comparison to LIVE. I was banned from PSN on my FIRST DAY online, and have been banned twice since... I don't trashtalk, cheat, camp, or anything. Only thing I can figure is the people I was raping in Killzone 2 and 3 filed a complaint for being too good, and got me banned.

I sure wish there was someone to investigate that so it wouldn't happen so willy nilly (like they do on Xbox, never been banned there!)

You cannot talk to someone on your PS3 outside of a game, because they only talk console to console as you describe.

An Xbox however, has SERVERS. This is why I can download my profile at my friends house and play it there (like I cannot do on Playstation, oh wait, I can... If I pay! LOL) You hop online on your Xbox, see a friend, send him a party invite, you both get into a chat room that 7 of your friends can then join also. You can all play different games and talk, or play a single player game together while discussing various decisions and what not.

Play MW2 on LIVE, then play it on PSN... Guarantee you will never play PSN online again

I think you are being a little too cynical when it comes to DLC. "Half" of the game isn't released when you buy it, it is the full game. DLC is a way of adding on to the experience of a game and I, personally, enjoy it most of the time.

Also, $4/month is extremely cheap. Netflix/Hulu/etc. are round $8 if I remember correctly and even those are SUPER cheap compared to a Dish Network bill. XBL is half of the price of those services. Also, I could be wrong because I don't have actual experience, but I hear that the PSN is crappy. I am willing to pay for a better experience.

maybe you're rig...*remembers RE5*

yep you're wrong

I remember when they released the multiplayer for RE5 as DLC, all the files and coding were ON THE DISC, you just paid for a little bitty 200kb file that unlocked it.

I don't mind paying a small($20/year?) fee for multiplayer of a single game. they gotta pay to keep the servers online somehow. but I would only agree to it if the price of the game was $30 or less. knowing activision, they will charge you $50 for the game, $5 a month, and $15 more if you bought it used. It's the same thing ISP's do. charging per GB makes sense, the more you use the more you pay, Except ATT used this as an excuse to charge more money for less service = totally the opposite what should happen.
