Help! New Build

Help me out guys... so i just build my little bro new rig and im having some troubles. Sometime when i power on the rig it takes long for the mobo to finally beep and then post, and when it does post fine, when i go to install windows 7 it gets stuck on "explanding windows files" at 0%. i dont know if this is a mobo issue or memory issue, so what do you guys think is wrong?
his parts list is...

AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE
Asus M4A87TD Evo
G-Skill 4gb DDR3 1600 CL9
ATI Radeon 6870
Cosair 650w
Seagate 500gb HD

P.S. i also noticed that that particular memory wasnt on the supported list for the mobo, but the mobo has a memok! function key that states it can make itself compatable to whatever memory you put in it, could this be the prob? Thanks guys

Maybe hard drive problem? I'm taking a guess so dont go ahead and buy a new hard drive right away...

Some motherboards can update the bios from a flash drive, I know mine has that ability. Check and see if your motherboard might support that?
