Asus p5kpl-cm + e5200 = oc problem

Hey. This is my first time when i post in a forum so please forgive me if its not where it suposed to be smile.gifbiggrin.gif

Anyway, i overclocked my e5200 to 3.4 ghz, but never, never got at least 2 seconds in orthos or prime 95, without an error

Here are my current settings.

12.5 x 272
vcore 1.3 (maximum)
ram 4gb oc'd 1088 mhz timings 5-5-5-5-15
fsb-dram 3:5

and these are all my voltages in bios. ami bios latest version.

1.8 Dual Over Voltage - Auto, 1.80V, 2.00V, 2.25V
VTT_CPU Over Voltage - Auto, 1.2V, 1.3V
1.25 Over Voltage - Auto, 1.25V, 1.4V
1.5 Over Voltage - Auto, 1.5V, 1.6V

if you need some pictures from cpu-z, memset or something please tell cause im sure i didnt mention everything. thank you and i hope you guys can help me.

If you want to take your CPU to the max, go ahead and lower the speed of your ram. I bet that's whats causing your problems.

Max out the CPU first, and if you end up having to run your ram slower, it won't make a bit of difference anyways!

But how can i reduce ram speed ? i have no option in bios to lower the ram speed. i can acces the cpu ratio, the voltages and fsb...

Its the FSB:DRAM ratio. Try 1:1 instead of 3:5. Should be good to go!

in the cpu ratio settings i have only the option to enter a number from from 6.0 to 12.5... i have no idea how can i change from 3:5 to 1:1... default ram mhz is 667. current speed of ram 1088.

There is probably a setting for the ram that is set to "By speed" if you can find it, try to change it to manual setting, or 1:1

nope... i dont have that option in my bios... damn frown.gif these are my current settings. stress cpu for hours and didnt faill. i stressed ram with memtest for hours, no error, but in orthos or prime, fatall error in first 3 seconds frown.gif

First of all fill this http://www.overclock.net/specs.php?do=addsystem.

Secondly what this guy above is saying is nonsense. Look at my mobo. It as close as possible to yours. so i can help if you fill out the system. plus if you have value rams then forget 1088.

EDIT: 286 X 12.0 is very unstable. im back to 12.5 x 272 wich still fails in orthos or prime, but no crash in crysis 2 & nfs hot pursuit 10.
