Yeah, I had actually read that in several places and I did in fact remount it. Which did lower my temps by a few degrees but nowhere near what my block did. I understand what you're saying though, it just gives me peace of mind.

In terms of appearance, I actually liked the looks of my stock cooler.

Very nice piece of text!!


You can use my board as an example. Stock cooling, indirect front case fans airflow, has never gone through 30ºC under very heavy loads. Runs at 300MHz bus speed 18/7.

i have the crosshair iv formula... i did not have the remount problem but stability issues aplenty as the temps rose on the nb/sb. I put a waterblock on and it stabilized at the same bios settings. So I do not buy into what you said at all due to personal experience.
