That's kind of out of his budget, I didn't go AM3 because I wanted it to be more futureproof. I figured it'd be better to skimp on the CPU than the motherboard and graphics card for gaming.

Yeah, or if not, you can drop to a H67 chipset to maybe save more, or is the plan a cheap CPU now with a forward thinking chipset for Ivy Bridge later?

Edit: Yeah, okay, the build looks good offhand then.

What else would you recommend for the price? I've honestly been quite happy with mine. Plenty of room to work with, great air flow, dust filter for the intake fans. Only gripe I have is the lack of a bottom vent for the PSU fan.

only thing I would change is trying to bump him up to a 2500k but looks great nonetheless
