That's absurd, Sandy Bridge Overclocking is very simple. CPU Multiplier and Vcore, THAT'S IT.
On previous platforms we have to OC mostly via FSB or BaseClock, and that brought all sorts of craziness with it because so many other things needed to be taken into account like RAM(tied to FSB), MCH, VTT, uncore, CPU PLL, LLC, and so on and so on.
You slap the 2500k in that Z68 Motherboard, set the CPU Multi to anywhere between 40x-50x (4Ghz to 5Ghz) and just set the vCore that gets you stable in a combination of tests like HyperPi, OCCT, Prime95, LinX, InterBurnTest, Folding@home, etc..
