Seeing that price in another thread today is actually what made me look around for a better deal than on daskeyboard.com, so I came across Newegg and other places. I'm amazed that Canada of all places has cheaper prices than the US on some piece of hardware, but I guess you guys deserve a break every now and then Anyway, I've not found such a good deal anywhere in the US.

But I am contacting Das to figure out exactly what they need from me for the student discount.

@Shub, might be a bit longer to get your keyboard but well worth the discount, use it to get some of those awesome Linux keycaps to replace the windows ones.

I think they just need a scan of your student ID

Don't mean to hijack the thread but for some reason I got really interested in mechanical keyboards the past few days.

I finally decided on getting a daskeyboard and see Newegg has a promo to get 20% off but at the same time their price is $144.99

While I wait for an email regarding student pricing from das, I was wondering about the Red/Green WASD key set. Could I buy two of these and use the extra set of green WASD to replace the arrow keys?

This will be my first mechanical keyboard and I can't wait to get it.

What's all the same size? Keys are different for the rows on many keyboards.

Anyways, they should work fine on the arrow keys. The arrows keys are isolated from the other keys, so even if they are higher then the normal arrow keys, it will feel fine and you won't really notice.

I was going based off of width and length not height but good catch Crazy. Das for sure isn't doing something really weird with their keys so most will fit decently and with the arrow keys being isolated like Crazy said it won't matter at all.
