P8P67 double boot issues

Thread Starter
Hi,

I got the P8P67 pro for my new build and I am having the double boot issues that I have heard so much about. Everything works great other then that and I was wondering if anyone had any luck in fixing it. It boots and then says hard drive cannot be found and then shuts down. Mine does this twice and on the third shot its finds it and continues.

Specs:
Antec 900 case
Core i7 2600k 3.4 GHz
P8P67 Pro motherboard
EVGA GTX 460 2048 Mb
Antec 750W psu
Sony dvd drive
64 GB crucial SSD

Hi, I've started a club for this motherboards here. http://www.overclock.net/intel-motherboards/1012874-tiny-asus-p8p67-pro-owners-corner.html

Are you using the latest 1502 bios? I'll investigate into this matter...

IU had this issue.

ok if your using the Blue Sata Ports (Native Ports)

first reset your bios to stock..

disable the 2 other driver controllers the.

JMMicron And the Marvel 6 SATA controller.

reset all you OC settings reboot and problem will be fixed.

it seems when all the controllers are on there's some issues..

i found this to fix it after monitoring it for 24 hours.

Update BIOS to latest
after re-set turn the PC off
take out power cord and CMOS battery
then jumper RTC

leave this for 10 mins or so then repalce everything.

not sure if youve done this but its worked or me on 6-7 machines now

but all in all there are teething issues with the ASUS boards, i hope future BIOS fix this

ASUS P8P67 series Double POST at Cold Boot Fix

Will add this to my club

I’ll explain the fix below and give some information about why this happens.

First, I would like to stress the importance of flashing the BIOS to the latest BIOS revision as listed on our support website, http://support.asus.com/download. You can access the ASUS EZ Flash tool from within the UEFI (advanced options, tools) to flash the BIOS from any removable device such as a USB flash drive.
From time to time we needed to implement full resets in order to maintain stability due to the architecture of the Sandy Bridge platform. For instance, the system may require one full reset when the PCH power has been cut during S5 power state. To fix the most common additional reset (double POST when powering on from off state), enter UEFI BIOS -> go to ‘Advanced’ tab -> go down to ‘APM’, press Enter -> enable the “Power on by PCIe.” function. Then press F10 to save & exit. After save & exit, let the system boot into Windows or other OS, then perform a proper shutdown: Start button -> Shut down. You will no longer have the double POST. We will fix this in an upcoming BIOS release.

just got the asus p8z68-v pro and can confirm the double post problem. Also when I made an update to the bios and rebooted, the system would power off and start up again. I thought the power supply or motherboard was bad! confused.gif

I updated to the newest bios which does not seem to be on asus' website. Had to get it off a forum post. Enabled pci-e on power, disabled jmicron and marvel controller and rebooted. Problem seems to be gone but i will continue to monitor it.
