The most current bios for the 890fxa-gd70 (1.9, I think) adds support for Bulldozer.

I'd say wait it out a bit and see if you can snag "back to school deals" and have a more mature platform on your hands.

I am an early adopter to a point. Yes I do like cool technology and try to get my hands on it as soon as possible but at the same time I also try to hold back a bit and wait for other people to deal with initial problems that come with all technologies.

If you ask me, wait until July when more consumers get their hands on the BD and 900 chipset and benches are plastered all over the internet and bugs are worked out and BIOS/firmware/hotfix patches released.

If this doesn't make any sense then just ignore it.

Thread Starter
Thanks for the help everyone.

looks like I am gonna wait for the Asus Crosshair 5, just too hard to pass up the upgrades. all those extra USB 3.0 ports and higher native memory speed... here's to hoping there are no NB heatsink issues like the Crosshair 4.

while i am waiting for the mobo and CPU to be released, gives me time to sell my two 5770's and start acquiring new parts like the new GPU, memory and PSU.
