Gtx 580 backplate

Thread Starter
Does anyone know if adding thermal pads under the gtx 580 backplate would help with heat transfer to the backplate from the gpu?

It wouldn't, and might screw up your card if you tried. Backplates removes very little heat anyway, mainly just for show and protecting.

Nope won't improve heat dissipation off GPU. High flow bracket out the back of the card will however 1C-2C if it already didn't come with one. The newer shipped cards have them already installed as default.

The back plate is for protection and damn sexy looking through side window tower.
