The pax drivers are fantastic , the author has been doing this for about six years .
I´ve been using pax drivers flawlessly for a couple of years now and would not use creatives lousy drivers again.
If your having issues with the mic, why not pop over to the forums and start a thread.http://www.hardwareheaven.com/pax-drivers/
I am not trying to be unfair to the creator of the drivers. He alters .ini and .inf files and has no clue why he does what he does. Take a look at the forum there and you will always see that the author constantly refers to "Daniel K." and that his drivers are better than Daniel's.
The author of the drivers says repeatedly that he does not have the cards he alters drivers for, and he does not have 64 bit windows but he makes and recommends changes for things he has no experience with.
Anybody can make random changes to .ini and .inf files and look at other people's work, but knowing what you are doing is very important. Therefore, I never recommend any PAX drivers to anyone.
I spent many years in the Creative forums, and I finally formatted my system and used nothing but stock Creative drivers. No CDs and then using web updates, no compatibility mode, nothing.
I download drivers, apps, and patches. Nothing else.
One of the big features a few months back of the pax drivers were the new installation screen. REally? Do I care how pretty the installer is? No.
Read the .nfo and readme files with any of the software over there and you will see it is nothing but guess work.
