I need a Solution CPU fan for 4pin mobo

This is driving me Completly nuts
I was going to change the thermaltake spinq VT fan for Megahalem, silver arrow or noctua so that fan can be controlled by motherboard PWM

Now i get to know that none of the fans i want will work
they will all go at 100% because they not PWM they 3 pin analog fan while the motherboard Asrocks fatal1ty P67 i bough has a 4 pin CPU_FAN conector.

I have absolutely NO idea of cooling and i getting a engineer to fix everything
i am buying the piezes i need but now i am stuck with cpu fans.

Why is it so hard to get a good Fan that can be controlled by the motherboard, and no i dont want the cpu controlled by a fan controller.

I Now found this:
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/smart-c...-control-14351

This chinesee thingy seem to turn my 3 pin Spinq VT fan into kind of 4 pin so it can be controlled by motherboard 4 pin CPU_Fan conector.

NOW, why do i have to order something from china and there is no solution like this in Europe?

First i cant find any good and somewhat silent fans that can hook fine upto a motherboard and get controlled by mobo instead of running 100% all the time...

Why does motherboard have 4 pin while most fans are 3 pin
and i need a convertor that i have to order from like china......

Now i dont know what to do at all
i am totaly lost on what Fan to get for cpu

I just got this in mind want one that can be controlled from the motherboard
so when i play games the fan speed on cpu fan goes up
when i dont play it goes down
dont want the find at full 100% all the time
and i dont want to controll CPU fan from the fan controller

Ok guys i realy need some help i am totaly stuck

Buy the cooler master sickleflow and plug it into the 4 pin CPU slot. Use speed fan to change the RPM. good luck.

Ok thanks but i dont understand "Use speed fan"
is that something i need to buy also to control those fans?
i want the motherboard to controll the cpu fan not me

Coolermaster Sickleflow is then PWM fan?
and how silent are they compared to Scythe gentle Prolimatech

BTW, i like how they are led

Gelid makes PWM fans.CoolerMAster Excalibur is a PWM fan.Everyone else on the planet plugs their 3 pin into it and uses Speedfan or your motherboards control,or a fan controller(which the little thing from china realy is)

When he says use speedfan he means the software, speedfan.

You need a 4pin not a 3pin. And it will be silent if the settings on the mobo are set that way.

cpu fans are 4 pin connectors so they can be adjusted with your bios. You just simply need a 4 pin pwm fan.For example the intel stock coolers are 4 pin connections.Every good motherboard has a 4 pin cpu fan connector. My motherboard has all 4 pin connectors for fans.

Thanks, i guess the superpopular Noctua or silver arrow dont have 4 pin Pwm fan?
so what do you do?

Just remplace the stock fan with 4 pin pwm fans?

and what 4 Pin pwm fans is recomended apart of Coolermaster sickleflow

If you have one of those TT cylinders, then you're stuck with its fan. I would ditch it and get one that accepts a more typical PWM fan. The Cooler Master Hyper 212+ is one of the darlings here.

If the widget to which you've linked actually does use a PWM signal to control a 3-pin fan, then it's a steal. But, for less than a fiver, I seriously doubt it. Although, it is cheap enough to take a chance.

Something that's confirmed to have PWM control over a 3-pin is the Sunbeam Rheosmart controller. You can set it and forget it.
The Rheosmart would be less work than a cooler swap, but you'd still have that cooler with its odd-ball fan.

The Silver Arrow comes with 2 PWM fans. The NH-D14 comes with 3-pin fans.
