It is more likely that bees will survive on their own. Bees will evolve around this issue in time. If the study is accurate, cell use will destroy x% of hives, y% of hives will survive and eventually all bees will be based off of the y hives. Life is a lot tougher than some like to give it credit. It is not the fragile web of life. It is the enduring, never giving up fist of God! I am not religious or anything, just a nice way to put it.

Yeah, eventually it could trigger a domino effect of mass extinction. I'm sure we would circumvent this if it ever came down to it though. It wouldn't be the preferred method of course, but we could "fix" it I am sure....at a huge cost.

Fixed. There are lots of other insects, birds, etc, that help pollinate plants. Bees just happen to be a major one!

I know right, if somebody threw a phone at me while I was eating I'd be mad

I hate bees. But I also know that they are essential to our environment.

Still, I'm glad

I know the reason for this, the ring tone was Justin bieber, if I was a bee and heard his songs I would brake up from my hive and kill myself.

We won't just learn to live without them. It will be a fundamental change to agriculture. Without bees pollinating crops we are in for a terrible future.
