Looking for a budget-minded CPU cooler. - Page 2

Another vote for the 212+

Though, as a side issue, killer, did you mount the cooler the same way as that Amazon page shows it? Why the hell would you mount the thing to exhause up like that? Trying to push the exhaust air up doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Not only are you fighting gravity (which admittedly will not be a huge hinderance, but it's not helping any) the cooler's working harder than it needs to. Should just mount pointing to the rear exhaust of the case.... Yeesh.

Most air coolers have to be mounted this way for AMD setups and I would assume that is the pic you are seeing on amazon. It is not my picture if that's what your asking.

The CM Hyper 212+ is so passe and is frequently over-priced due to its popularity now.

The Xigmatek Gaia gets as good if not better temps and is frequently cheaper, plus it has a killer mounting system.

The Corsair A50 is also a wonderful purchase.

Any of these 3 will suit you fine, as will any of the Xigmatek 1283 or 1284 models, or a Scythe SCMG 2100, or really any other 120mm HDT tower-heatsink.

But the Xigmatek Gaia gets my vote ...
