SSD a few questions

Thread Starter
Heya guys,

I am thinking of buying a SSD for my computer. I currently run WD Black 1 TB but i want to use that one for storage and use my SSD for windows 7 64 bit prof and my games. I am thinking of buying 120 gb since i don't think 60 gb is going to cut it in the long run.

Yet i am running my desktop on a 1366 mobo with only sata -300 connections.

Now my question is as i will upgrade my board eventually allthough i will probably skip 1155 boards will a OCZ vertex sata 600 still run on a sata 300 port and if so does it only lower the read and write speed to sata 300 capibility?

The reason for asking this cause ofcourse i can buy ocz vertex 2 for sata 300 but then when i eventually buy a new mobo with sata 600 i am still stuck with a HDD for sata 300 instead of 600.

So is it possible to hook it up to a sata 300 and if so what are the consequences.

thanks in advanced.

SATA is backwards compatible. Putting a SATA 3.0gb/s SSD on a 6.0gb/s SATA port will have no ill consequences.
