Hotswappable case fans?

Thread Starter
I hope this goes in the right forum, but I was wondering if its possible to DIY your own hotswappable case fans as in there is no need to disconnect the fan if you want to change it.

Take a look at the Thermaltake Level 10 case, if you have no idea what I'm talking about because I honestly don't XD

The Thermaltake Level 10 case has this electronic on the side panel fan where you don't have to disconnect the actual wire from the motherboard if you want to take out the side panel.

Edit: Read post#4 for the video

you mean just being able to just unplug them while the computer is running? or like a hot swap HDD where you just slide it into place?

If you have a case fan attached to the side panel you want to remove, you have to disconnect the power wire for that fan, there's no way around that.

Otherwise, just take the panel off.

How is that hotswappable? its just stuck to the door?

Hot Swap is when you can swap out parts while the system is running.

Lol yea i figgured

But in that case, all it looks like it is just stuck to the door, if you want to remove your side panel without unplugging the fan, use a longer wire. thats what i do and i can remove the panel while my pc is running just fine.

Also i can even shut off that fan from my controller and then just unplug it if i need to.

Ok now that is hot-swappable, and totally awesome.. it could be done though similarly to how it is done on that case though.
