Game play looks pretty cool. Thankfully this is a 3D game that will be able to be reskinned easily. I would love to get a dark n satanic high res texture pack to go along with D3.

That is correct.

I really wish this was the medium or low graphic settings, because it has lower res than SC2 (Obviously) But it looks like it has only slightly higher texture resolution than WC3.

I just LOVE deep underground stuff.
Building an underground facility or just the look of an underground blast door.

Oh, and while D1 had the looks, D2 had the gameplay.
So D3 which lacks looks will probably, certainly, hopefully have better gameplay than D2.

Though I was never really a fan of World of Warcraft and this game reeks WoW so I guess I'm in for some ranting once I start playing the game.

But as it looks now it's just a Torchlight/TitanQuest,Sacred look a like.

Sacred... Great game but why didn't I finish that game?
Titan Quest, also a great game but why didn't I finish that game?
Torchlight, Why haven't I tried it yet?

Why are you asking an action rpg game to be a straight up rpg game. It's not meant to be a deep story told game with deeply developed characters. It's an action game in an rpg setting.

Asking for more than the game has offered in terms of depth and story is a massive failing by those asking for it. What you're actually asking is for it to be a different type of game all together.

This in no way makes the game less than it could have been. D2 was absolutely great and for you to want what you posted above and slight D2 for not delivering is laughable!

Let me help you... Neverwinter Nights and Baldurs Gate among others are that way --->

Torchlight is good. I enjoyed it. I steered clear of Titan Quest and Sacred though altho I cannot recall what I read that caused me to. Torchlight was like 5 bucks though.. and well worth it.

As for D1 and D2.. I agree. that was the point I was making. The one guy said he remembered the same issues when D2 launched and peoples complaints. The next guy said they were the same. I attempted to post with sarcasm and it probably didnt translate well and I only chose to highlight the dungeons part to show a huge difference. The brightness and characters were much different as well though as you stated. I missed the dungeon dive of D1.. it was awesome and every stairwell down built tension.

Titan Quest was amazing, I would rate it a 9.5/10. You missed a bunch of fun things if you skipped it.

there is no reason a hack and slash game cant have a engaging story.

And you take post entirely out of context. He said owners of d2 just want another diablo. I simply said that diablo could have been improved by an amazing storyline to compliment the rest of the game.

Never said D2 was a bad game, its the opposite, but it could have been absolutely epic with a great story and characters behind it.

appreciate it for what it is, but i cant help but imagine what it could have been. Something to engage the mind as well as the senses.

Oh and epeen, d2 is going down in history for its loot pinata, not its story, or anything else. Kinda like why people still talk about baldurs gate, or Dues Ex. Sorry when you put d2 up against those kinds of games. d2 doesnt stand a chance.

I don't think he was referring to it in those regards.

Company of Heroes, and Men of War: Assault Squad are some very complex games that are quite the enjoyable experience. They added complexity for the sake of realism and more in-depth game mechanics. Realism does add elements to the game that create challenges and makes you feel great after succeeding.

AAA publishers are now the equivalent to michael bay films. All plodeys, hot chicks, racial stereotypes, and action. No plot, no thinking.

Even though fallout 1 and 2 were quite complex. To the point of having a character with low intelligence would make it extremely hard to communicate with other people.

Hell Brink just got marked down in a review because it emphasized teamwork and tactics. *** how do you mark down a game for doing what it is suppose to do? Cause its not COD easy that is why, they dont Give you hugs for sucking in it.

Really great post. Nailed it.

All IMO ofcourse.
I do agree, though at the same time a little innovation can make a tried and true product that has turned stale seem fresh and exciting again. Blizzard tend to be able to avoid this however by just releasing games every 10 years.

It's not so much the gameplay in question here, but the graphics, and simply put they are nothing like the previous games. So why have they tried to change something that was not broken before?

Actually the truth is if we want to see blizzard release some decent new games WoW has to die. That is pretty much their entire focus so games like SC2 and D3 only have small teams working on them and small budgets, and after playing SC2 I have to say I didn't see much other than a repackaged SC1.

Titan Quest + Immortal Throne was indeed a great game, and anyone who is a Diablo fan should do themselves a favour and pick it up. It's regularly on sale on steam for around $7-8 dollars.
