Some items are taking spots for future and most likely more expensive products releasing mid June-early august, such as the AMD Bulldozer and Crossfire V

Sasha

AMD Phenom II 1100T x6 [Placeholder for AMD Bulldozer] - $210

AMD Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2GB [Reference Design] (Shader unlock and overclocked to match 6970 performance) - $275
[If the build is not made by August, I'll hold out for a Radeon HD 7950]

ASUS Crosshair IV Formula[Placeholder for Crosshair V] - $230

Corsair 750HX PSU - $140

GSKILL Ripjaw 8GB 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz - $100

Silverstone Raven RV02-E Case - $190

WD 1TB 7200 64MB HDD - $90

In Total: $1,235.00

[or replace cpu for estimated FX series $329 for 8, $269 for 6 and $229 for 4 cores. New CPU series + motherboard with 9xx chipset maybe increase the cost by about $250:

~$1,360.00

Looks pretty good. The PSU is a little overkill for a single 6970.

As the above and a bunch of others will say though, right now, SB would be a more economical option.

Well I'm still waiting on news for the AMD FX Series. I'm trying to be as AMD die-hard as I can. If the bulldozer line turns out to not compete with the sandy bridge cpu's, I might give in. Maybe.

My original posts states that I'm using the phenom II x6 and Crossfire IV in place of the Bulldozer cpu and Crossfire V

It's to get an estimate of at least the cost. I have also been telling everyone to wait till mid June for bulldozer to release to find out if it's an option and to also see if it's not option, then your original Phenom II choice is now cheaper.

Sorry for confusing you.

whoops

Kinda glanced over that.

Yea, probably fine then.

I really think that the top end BD will be higher than $210, and the CHV will probably be a bit higher too.

Not really a fan of the DF-85, but that is more personal preference.

Well I'm thinking it might max out at $300 tops (hopefully) seeing AMD's track record for inexpensive CPU's to performance.

The Crossfire V might not be that much more expensive, maybe $20-30 more. I also hope that they keep it at least two tiered, Extreme and Formula edition.

And as for the case, I've always trusted Antec and see the DF-85 as a much better designed Antec Twelve Hundred case + shorter name, lol.

What about the case do you not like or what's a better case in your opinion?

I don't like the:

Look (this is purely subjective, if you like it, great)
The 1200 is too shallow, and so is this.
Airflow is probably ok, but not excellent (like the 1200)

It really just feels like a half-assed attempt to rehash the 1200. Nothing really that bad about it, it just feels like a last minute effort.

If i was going to use a case, i would pick the RV-02:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811163154&cm_re=RV-02-_-11-163-154-_-Product

Good airflow, fresh design, and i like the look.

Well that's a very different design. In a very good way. It's sleek. Kind of like a stealth jet.

It's hard to tell. Is it as tall as a normal full tower? it seems wide which would probably be good for >11" cards
