Iphone vs Andriod as a music player? - Page 3

The good thing about android phones for media as well is that they are expandable and MicroSD cards are getting pretty cheap now, if you so desired you could even carry multiple around and have even more storage than the zune

iPhone 4's speaker is just mono, so it fails as a music player if you don't want to use earbuds. My HTC Legend when I had it sounded way better. But I guess if you have a portable speaker with ipod/iphone dock it'll be your best bet. Lots of choices out there if you want.

FLAC eats up way too much space, but it is the best format out there. How many FLAC songs can one fit in a 16gb card? Just curious.

Loss less is quite nice and I'm willing to bet you loose quite a bit with the built in apple decoders?

Piggybacking onto the topic... I just got a Motorola Xoom, and I was wondering if anyone knew a good Honeycomb friendly music app that does gapless play well.

I can vouch for the quality of the HTC music player, but I have not had enough hands on time with the iphone 4 to give any real recommendation, but I can tell you ALL my friends with iphones love it and that does say a lot. Most people hate their phones, but everyone seems to love their iphone.

That being said my friends with iphones arent exactly tech savvy, I know an iphone would never suit myself due to it's limitations on customization (not interested in jail breaking).

Both seem very good as music players and I would be looking at other features of the OS to decide which way to go.

That is an awesome idea.

If you wanted people to take your seriously, the middle of your post is fine (bolded). Should have just stated that in your first post.

Also, starting all your posts with lol, makes you look a bit silly.

Not really sure how to respond to the last part of your post. Being that the thread was created in order to get a comparison of iphone vs. android from a music player stand point. I feel like you might be a bit confused and just came in the thread in order to jump all over an apple product just for the sake of doing it.

Granted i would have no where near the storage of my zune. I would still like to be able to use one device for most of my media and such.
most new smart phones these days have about the same audio quality output via the 3.5mm head jack.

i find that apple ipods seem to have the lowest power output for sound compared to an htc or black berry phone. not sure if this is the case for an iphone 4. this would attribute for longer music playback when you limit the volume output.

black berry's seem to have the best speaker output from thier phones due to dual speaker specs they have (but im sure this isnt what youre looking for). mid range and highs are the best from thier speakers.

16GB memory cards these days are about $20-$40 depending on thier speeds. it would be more beneficial from your standpoint, if money is tight, to get a non apple product. but i leave that to your discretion. you can fit tons of music on 16GB depending on your format preferences.

32 gb cards still range from $80-$120. but im sure that will drop in time (last year the 16 gb cards were this price, so we are indeed making progress on this)

You don't have to join the mob you know. Despising a product because you don't use it anymore is a bit childish.
