Iphone vs Andriod as a music player? - Page 6

The iPhone offers nothing over Android in this regard. There is nothing you can do on the iPhone that you cannot on an Android.

My desire didn't play FLAC when stock... or when I had some custom roms on it either.

I haven't seen anyone mention battery life yet. I'm not sure how it is with the Fascinate, but with my Droid X (admittedly with the stock ROM) I can get around 10 hours of music playback. Even with light usage it only lasts about 36 hours. Unless I'm near a charger I don't feel comfortable using it as a mp3 player for more than a few hours, in case I need it to use it as a phone or surf the net. I know the Zune it will be replacing isn't much better but I believe the iPhone4 is quite a better when it comes to stock battery life. I know with some fiddling (custom ROMs) I can get my Droid X to go a lot further but I shouldn't have to.

iPhones aren't much better and the win for android over iPhone here is that you can have additional batteries and just switch whenever you need to.

Give the gingerbread leak a try or wait for the OTA which is rumored to come out tomorrow.

You can't pay tribute to He Who is Named Jobs on Android.

You can't give apple way more money than the device is actually worth and also wait a year just to get a white version

I couldn't ever find a good one... just switched to cyanogenmod from oxygen, supported FLAC natively

Honestly, this is a problem with all smartphones these days, they have so much stuff in them that can drain the battery. Realistically, you aren't going to get more than 3 days out of a smartphone with a normal battery, there simply is too much drain for it. Until we get better batteries, we aren't going to get longer battery life

Battery life is probably the biggest bottleneck in the world right now as far as technology is concerned.
