They encrypt it, actually. And once you plug in your device to someone's iTunes program with auto-sync turned on, say goodbye to your painstakingly-built media library.

The one thing I miss from my iphone over the android I have now is that on the headphones that come with the phone, when you double click on the mic it would go to the next song. Not sure if there is a another app with the nexus that will allow that.

Apple's AAC audio quality is not poor by any means, and they don't limit you to using AAC either (you CAN use MP3, for those too ignorant to know.)

As far as Android, I've tried everything. Mixzing, Poweramp, Stock, MIUI, Zimly, Doubletwist, 3, Winamp, Morty, Songbird.... Everything. The only player I've found to be worthwhile is PlayerPro. It's 5 bucks, yeah, but it's got the best UI as far as Android music players, it has a DSP pack and GEQ, playlists, ratings, themes... the whole 9 yards.

If you're going with Android, PlayerPro is the only player worth grabbing.

I use a music player app called 3(cubed) by Filipe Abrantes(free on market) , on my Galaxy S.
This app also allows headphone control, if the headphones support it.(play, pause, skip)
Have the Voodoo kernel and the Voodoo amplifier app installed, made a massive improvement to to quality of the sound on this phone.

The stock player on HTC roms is very good. I like it better than anything else so far.
I'll second this. I have an HTC Incredible & their player is quite nice with a good set of options. Audio quality is very good as well until you turn the volume to max, gets a little twangy at that point. I have family & friends with the iPhones (3 & 4g) and none of them sound all that great frankly.

Apple hides EVERYTHING, regardless. You can't even use the iPhone for storage. Everything that goes on or off the iPhone has to be through iTunes.

By default yes, with a little jailbreaking and a lot of work you can bypass that but honestly you're better off getting Android if you're tech savvy and able to do that stuff.

Yes the Iphone doesn't support all these formats but why do you need them ?

For me i convert all my FLAC files into ALAC and then onto my Iphone 4 .

FLAC = WMA Loseless = ALAC

All these formats are just their to support different devices.

FLAC and ALAC are the same thing really.

Free Loseless Audio Codec vs Apple Loseless Audio Codec.

They are all loseless formats which give equal sound quality.

On another note getting music onto a Android device is easier and quicker than using itunes no doubt.

But if you own a Iphone 3GS/4 its something you have to live with .

Except for your Camera Roll which you can only view and copy photo's to your PC .

Apple is great for people with less tech knowledge since is streamlines everything and allows the average person to use it without any problems.
