OCZ Vertex3, Crucial M4, Crucial C300

So. I heard that the M4 degrades quickly, what of the C300 and the Vertex 3? I'm in the market for a SSD to be my OS drive, so.

OCN. Your thoughts? :3

Vertex3 MAX IOPS edition is going to be your best choice, especially if you are on Sata3. Don't get one of the 60,000 IOPS versions, the revised version are pretty much the same price.

The 240GB is going to perform much better than the 120GB. Going to have to pay a premium for it though, and it's not released yet.

The only daunting thing about the Vertex 3 is its price. How do the C300 and M4 stack up to it? And OCN, your reactions on the M4 degrading quick?

I personally would only consider the Vertex 3. It's the most "future proof" SSD out there, and it's currently destroying the other SSDs.

Yes the price is steep but that's the cost of going with a high-end new technology product. In a year i'm sure the prices will be half of that.

It's really up to you, personally i'd get the 120GB Vertex MAX IOPS version if you are going to be buying soon. I will probably grab the 240GB version in my next build when it's price drops. While the 240GB one will be faster, you don't really need faster... and $550 is a ton to spend on a hard drive that will be "outdated" in a year by an SSD that will cost half it's price.

They are estimating $1/GB SSDs in 2012, which I don't suspect to be that far off. Right now it's about $2.25/GB for the Vertex 3.
