PCs on the other hand have a myriad of choices and devs have to code for what is essentially a hodge podge of different gear and machines with different levels of performance and still make the game look good.
The hardware also comes down to the controllers themselves. Yes, there is the age old controller vs keyboard/mouse camp. And the whole arguement about which is actually better. IT is a matter of choice folks. What feels better for you and your playstyle. But lets back off a moment and look at what a console is supposed to be.
Back in the coin-op days, where video game arcades ruled, and playing games with your friends was a matter of heading down to "Flynn's", popping quarters and having a good time is where the modern console was born. No arcade game that I recall had a keyboard, and only a few had any controls that even resembles a mouse in function. They let you mill around the machine with your friends and take turns at the controls.
The consoles of that time came about to bring the feel of the video arcade home to the living room. A function that they continue to serve to this day. "Flynn's Arcade" is gone now, most arcade are sadly, but the console, the by-product of that era lives on and continues to bring the excitement and social aspects of the arcade home to the living room.
The PC for all it's power and ability will never really recreate that feeling. It is all about customization and personalizing it, to make the machine not only truly your own but to let you wring out the most of your skill and your hardware. The keyboard and mouse are fine tuned to you and your particular playstyle, strengths and weaknesses. The console, you pass the controller to your friend, and at most they may change the button layout on the controller, but the console, except for putting a custom grfx on the casing is really not customized for how you play, it is about social and a happy medium, where everyone plays on the same hardware essentially with little difference between it all.

IMO, play what feels right to you on what feels right to you. As GAMERS, both PC and CONSOLE, lets stop the stupidity already. It isn't about the hardware. It's about the games. Let's stand up as ONE VOICE, and demand that games are coded properly for the platform that it is being played on. I have seen Console Ports that are horrendously done. I have seen PC ports just as horribly done. All in the name of saving a buck. And who suffers? The Devs? The Publishers? No. We, the Gamers do. But we are too busy fighting each other over which is better to unite against they who truly make our gaming experience less than it should be.

THIS has got to be the best written, most insightful post I have seen in a while.

There's something to be said for games that you know will be optimized for your system as well. All this said, I still prefer to game on my PC.

These console vs PC wars pop up daily and it's always hardware, graphics and input devices with you people. You're forgetting the actual games.
This.

Why did you write the rest of the words but when it came to "one" you used the number instead of spelling it out?

Honestly that is one of the most ridiculous things I have seen.

This debate(Console vs PC) has been done to death. What does this debate actually accomplish? Nothing. Each platform has its strengths and weakness.
