What's a good processor for everyday uses? This includes some potential gaming, nothing fancy though. A family computer if you will.

The Pentium E6700 is like the Athlon II of the Core 2 line right?
I want to encourage you to look ahead to when you have a child your age and consider if you want him talking and thinking about you the way you think and talk about your dad. I'm not criticizing you; I'm simply suggesting you evaluate and consider because what you think you'll want from your son is what you should give to your father.

There's a principle in life, simply stated and understood: "You reap what you sow." Your life will be better to the degree that you attempt to incorporate the understanding of that little proverb into your life. Being careful to be respectful in your heart and in your thoughts will serve you well as you mature.

Regards

This might have done something for me if I was 14 and not 22 with having been in the Air Force for two years.

On the contrary, reaping what you sow means the older you get, the closer you are to reaping. You apparently didn't pay attention to my remark because it referenced how you want your son to think about you. Therefore, if you're 22, then you're not old enough to have a 22 year old son speaking disrespectfully in public about you. I'd say that gives you at least ten years to consider and adjust your attitude about your dad so that when you have a son, you won't dread the day when you see the same disrespect in him that you've known in yourself.

Criticizing one's parents is very popular, until you become the parent.

I'm trying to save you some grief and regret.

...and if you think you were more open to it when you were 14, think again.

How is saying our parents generally know less about computer parts an insult? My parents know more than me in a lot of other areas...

On topic, I'd suggest an E 8xxx used around here. Great value, and will be enough for many years.

Boom, here you go:

Still fail to see how this helps the issue at hand. Personally I think it's a waste of time that you're trying to educate me on this subject since you're more of a stranger to me due to the fact that you're just some random person on this forum.

Please focus on the problem I stated instead of trying to give me a life lesson. I really don't need your help at the moment. Judging how you could be some 16 year old kid, what with the way the internet is, I have no way of knowing if you're actually a father yourself or some kid who decided to troll this thread.

If you're going to help, please do. If not, don't post.
