Having SSD issues

Thread Starter
I have a few questions regarding some issues I have with my HD setup. First I need to recover some desktop files from a SSD that I think is acting as a slave right now. The system crashed and wouldn't boot from the SSD anymore I have installed another drive with a copy of windows as a master to boot to retrieve/transfer the files from the SSD but can't locate them.

What confuses me since I'm new to these SSD's is that there is no jumper setting like the old IDE/SATA drives have so I assume you set boot priority through Bios. Anyways after I retrieve the files I need I would like to set the SSD back up as a master and use my raptor as a slave. I had some issues doing it before and got frustrated and gave up.

So if anyone could shed some light on my situation or point me in the right file directory for my desktop files I would be ecstatic. Thanks in advance!

Keep in mind about where MBR's (master boot record) is written.

IE> You cannot boot from a hard drive lacking the MBR. When you have two operating systems, the MBR is written ONLY on the primary hard drive.
