thanks to the people that read my post and gave me actual suggestions

so suggestions are
1 ubuntu netbook remix
2 ubuntu
3 kubuntu
4 puppy

keep them coming as im mostly likely gonna try all of them.

also please read the post i do not want windows.

i have windows thin pc currently on this laptop as lke i said i was testing it and my job with that is coming to a end as a rtm is very near. as for xp ive had that on there before thin pc im only looking for linux type oses thanks

I run Ubuntu on an old PIIIm IBM thinkpad and also Windows 7 64bit on a 1.86ghz core 2 duo (centrino actually) with 4gb of ram and a 7200RPM HDD, and it hauls ass!


Either one will be fine, but I suggest going with a LXDE version of Linux. Like Knoppix
