Do monitors have water spill indicators like phones do?

Thread Starter
I recently and unfortunately had water spill on my monitor, and everything still works, however the on and off button doesn't work. I'm scared to unplug the monitor as I might not be able to turn it back on. Is it worth sending in for repair as I'm still under the 3 year warranty? Or will they be able to detect it?

Yes, they will usually stop working.

That's a good indicator, isn't it?

My ultimate question is, is it worth sending it in or would I be wasting my time getting rejected.

Sensor or not, water damage is usually pretty easy to detect. Although they may just replace it outright if it is under warranty as monitor repair usually costs more than a replacement in many cases.

There may be staining/residue internally.

Afaik, they don't have the little white sticker with red x's on it.

I see now. There are no water damage indicators per se, but water damage may be visible regardless.

I still don't know if it's worth sending it in. Hmm.

Stupid question but, is there some type of 'remote control' way to turn a monitor on and off? This issue wouldn't be such a big deal if that would be the case.

Uhh...not as far as I know...unless said monitor has a ir sensor. Just put it to sleep through pc? Does it have any sleep feature built into it?
