Do monitors have water spill indicators like phones do? - Page 2

It does go to sleep when I turn off the PC, leaving an orange light. I thought that this might damage the monitor over time? My warranty expires september, so maybe I'll just continue like this until a couple weeks before then and test my luck.

It wont do anything to the monitor...ive never shut a monitor off completely unless i was going away for an extended period. Standby is harmless...just a few watts of draw.

That's just putting it to sleep so it's not drawing as much power aka has no signal coming from the video out. What happened to the monitor if you don't mind me asking?

Just dry it out really good with a hair drier, if it is still acting crazy, try and RMA it. You have nothing to lose, the damage is already done no? Its not like you go to a federal prison because you forget to mentioned you spilled a little bug juice on the monitor while laughing at the latest internet meme.

They just reject it and send it back to you.

I'd send it in for the RMA. If someone unplugs the monitor or the power goes out, you could be screwed.

I have a computer desk with a stand is structured over the monitor. I stupidly (I learned my lesson) had a cup of water on this stand and forgot about it, and when I had to move the desk, well... the rest is history.

Was not a good day, it was not.
