2600K 1.9v Spikes!! - Page 2

Seems something might be off with the reading, 1.9V is massive. Did you also note a temperature change during the spike?
Well some people want to go over the recommended max of 1.55V. My board is accurate to .02V so not sure why yours is acting like that maybe its a bad Mobo.

Your luck it didn't ruin your chip!

Well from what i can gather its not anythign else as it is all very new and worked before i upgraded. Its simply this new mobo and chip just start spiking when the volts go higher. Weirdness.

I might try to record a graph to show you. I think the P8P software has a system monitor record function

Have you changes any other settings? PLL, PLL overvoltage? What about power saving features?
1.9v is way to high even if it just spikes for a few seconds...

it could be a software issue where it is reading the vcore incorrectly

or a hardware issue where your vrms are actually supplying 1.9v to your cpu; even at a very short amount of time... this would seriously be a problem.

Is there a increase in temperature when it spikes??

Well temps seem ok while it is happening.

Perhaps if anyone has a P8P67 mobo in front of them now could they just watch the volts while prime is running to see if they get random little jumps.

If ud like I could re-overclock it and make a youtube video zoomed into the voltage so you can see?

Does your voltage wall start at 4.9? Just wondering because most chips can do 4.4-4.6 on stock volts, with maybe a little bump. But adding .3 volts seems extreme
really?

Sounds like the reading could be faulty then. 1.9V would cause a large spike in temperature.

1.5v does not feel that extreme really. I ran 1.55v through my AMD 955 Black Edition to get 4Ghz (even tried 1.65v @ 4.2Ghz but it black screened after 30 seconds of prime). But then the AMD is 45nm and the Intel is 32nm so I dont know. I read that nothing over 1.4v is supposed to help with sandy bridge but raising the volts to 1.525v clearly made my 5Ghz prime stable.
