Ugh. This is so frustrating.

Thread Starter
Just got done building my new rig and I started overclocking and testing right away.

I overclocked my video cards one at a time and both of them were stable at 910/1440 at 1.2v. (99 passes on Crysis benchmark tool, 30min on furmark, and a full pass through 3dMark 11)

Then I tried to overclock them in Crossfire....

What happens is when I apply even 1MHz to the core and/or mem clocks or a 0.001 bump in voltage, I get a BSOD with this info at the end of the read-out:

-atikmdag.sys
0x3b

I googled that BSOD info plus any combination of overclocking, HD6950, and crossfire that I could think of with nothing really relevant to my issue coming back.

And now I am lost and asking all of you computer geniuses for some help. What's going on here? Are one or both of my cards failing? Or maybe just the crossfire link is bad. How could I test and prove thats the problem? Im all out of ideas.

P.S. Im sorry if this post is confusing. I just got off of work and am pretty tired.

P.P.S. I followed this guide from OCN to help me overclock my cards http://www.overclock.net/amd-ati/633816-how-overclock-your-ati-gpu.html

I used AMD Overdrive to overclock mine And I got 910/1350 on stock volts.

That aside, I would recommend first to disable ULPS as it appears MSI AB does not play nice with ULPS.

EDIT: http://www.overclock.net/amd-ati/667144-crossfire-disabling-ulps.html

Also, before you muck with the voltage, try simply increasing the core clocks from native 800 and see how far you go. Memory as well.

^this I experienced the same thing until i disabled ULPS. How to disable ULPS. Make sure you disable all of them for each folder. Just remember to do it again if you install new drivers.
