Vertex 2 OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G Underperforming

SSD: OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G

Everywhere I've looked has better numbers. I've done every tweak there is in the Windows 7 and SSD tricks. It's in ACHI mode and windows was installed on it after being enabled.

Those numbers just aren't right when I'm seeing other the same SSD's closer to the 250\\230 mark. I'm really starting to think I did something wrong but can't figure out what. It is plugged into the Marvel SATA III Controller would that have anything to do with it?

I'm completely at a loss. Any information needed I will respond to quickly.

Are you up to date on the firmware? There's been some pretty substantial performance increases there.

P.S. If you have an image in your post somewhere, I'll assume it's on an imagehosting site. I can't see those through my work's proxy. Attaching images to your post helps.

Use the SATA Intel controller and the latest RST drivers. Log off overnight. Restart then run the benchmark.

I know it's not SATA III, so having it on the Marvell Controller can hurt it? I wasn't aware just though it would help if it could. I'll give that a go as well.

Like mentioned before, try it on an Intel Sata port and install the latest RST drivers.

Also, I have heard that the new "Extended" (note the E in the model number) versions of the Vertex drives do not perform as well as the older ones. The Extended models are 25nm. There has been a lot of complaints that I have seen about the new drives and they did not update the specs or anything so people were not aware of the change. Not sure if that is exactly the problem, but something to think about I guess.

I went to OCZ stating that..this was their final response before closing my ticket:

"25nm NAND was not shipping in July 2010. It only began shipping in Jan 2011. It is impossible for you to have a 25nm drive. If the drive is slow there is something else causing the problem."

I have the latest RTS driver (10.1.0.1008) So I'll check the benchmarks after switching SATA ports.

^This^

I just bought my first SSD from newegg for my laptop. My part number was OCZ OCZSSD2-2VTX120G R. I was specifically avoiding anything with the E in it. after following the things on the OCZ forums, I am seeing 281 and 271 read and write speeds. I have no complaints at all.

can you link the OCZ site tips, or are they the same as the ssd tips and tricks here?
