But you chose a bad time to use Ubuntu. If you're using the 11.04 release I suggest to delete it. It and Wubi are the two worst things that have come out of Linux in recent years (so everyone makes it sound). I tried Wubi once and it destroyed everything...I mean everything on the first boot and thus no way to fix it. It was a failed attempt at making Linux "easier". DO NOT USE IT! Just make another partition of free space about 20GBs in size and you should be golden. Then just direct the real installer to that and go from there.
If you want I can send you my Kubuntu discs because they're before the evil of 11. Just don't go using 11.04 or Ubuntu. It's just bad like all "mainstream" things.
PS: I hope that you remember that I warned you that I haven't heard good things about AMD drivers in Linux so be ready to ask Melcar and others for help with that if it should come up.
Hey Rookie! Thanks for the welcome!
Thanks for letting me know. So there isn't a way to get an older version of Ubuntu? If anyone can link that to me, I'd most definitely appreciate it. I was planning on downloading the latest version of Ubuntu and burning it to a disk to do a fresh installation, but not that you guys make it seem so scary, I'm hoping there's a way to get the older version. Is there like a version 10 or something?
And thanks for the heads up about the drivers. I knew that would be the case, since Zacate is less than a year old.
