First Overclock

Thread Starter
Hey guys, first time poster here.
I just finished my very first build last month. Everything is serving me well so far. I am using my stock CPU cooler, as I don't have much need for an aftermarket cooler yet. I was just playing around with my BIOS and overclocked to 3.4GHZ from 3.2GHZ.
Here is a CPU-Z screenshot:

How does everything look? Did I do anything wrong?
Temps hovering at around 45C idle.
Any help/tips are appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome

Looks fine, but you need to know the load temps of your cores. Given the stock cooler, you've not got much room to work with I'm sure. Keep it below 60 degrees C at load.

How are you testing the overclock?

While using Prime95's blend test, I hit 60C (and my alarm sounded), so I stopped the test. Not too impressed, though it took a few minutes to hit 60C. I have a Hyper 212+ in my house, but I think the mounting bracket is broken. What would you guys recommend?

Try bolting down your other HSF onto your CPU somehow?

Just be carefull as that board is only a 4+1 phase and the vrm's dont have a heat sink on them.

Okay, motherboard is at around 30C. Should I be worried? I have 4 (soon to be 6) case fans.
