Ordered XFX 750w Black Edition got.. XFX 750w Pro?

I recently ordered all the parts for a new PC, my first homebuilt. For PSU I ordered the XFX 750W Black Edition (which strangely enough is supposed to be green..) It got excellent reviews at jonnyguru, wo seems to be considered among the most reputable PSU reviewers; http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story5&reid=184

I ordered what I believed to be the same PSU since it was cheaper than the Antec Truepower New and the modular Corsair PSUs. This is a link; http://www.dustin.no/pd_5010375014.aspx?csref=Pricecompare_mediahuset_1190&intcmp=aredir , and as you can see, in the picture, it also appears to be green and looks like the one Jonnyguru reviewed.

However today I got most of my parts, including the PSU. When I checked my parts just to see I got the right ones, I discovered an issue. The PSU I received is called XFX PRO750W XXX edition semi-modular, and IS not green. I also believe that the PSU I expected is supposed to be fully modular, and not just semi-modular which this one is.

I checked the XFX eu site to see what PSU this is, and there I found this; http://xfxforce.com/en-us/Products/PSU/Pro-Series/750W-PSU.aspx?product=34602 If I understand the "fully-wired" description right, this unit is supposed to be non-modular and in addition is rated bronze I believe. The packaging for the unit I received, which I'm looking at in this moment, clearly says semi modular and "80 plus silver."

Truth be told I'm really, really confused right now. I can't find the PSU jonnyguru reviewed at XFX's sites, and not this PSU either. The jonnyguru review mentioned that the XFX black edition 750w is based on some good Seasonic unit and therefore really decent; is this the case for this PSU? I found a review of this unit and it's brothers in different wattage classes, and hardwareheaven I think gave it pretty decent ratings, but is it as good as the green PSU I was supposed to get? Is this just a renaming/new version of the same model I ordered, and therefore legitimately what I'm supposed to get, or should I complain to the online store I ordered it from? Any information on this is appreciated.

Take a picture of it so I can ID it.

I don't know what's going on with the PSU you got, but I just wanted to clarify that the XFX 750W Black Edition is not fully modular -- it is semi-modular.

AFAIK XFX released a newer version (don't know if anything internally changed) with a black fan instead of the green one. If it is semi modular then it definitely isnt the XFX Pro, those are fully hardwired.

All of XFX PSU's are Seasonic, but the XFX BE is on a superior platform (M12D) compared to the Pro (SS***-AT).

Took some pictures, hope these are sufficient http://img28.imageshack.us/g/dscf0585z.jpg/

Would really like to do the build today, but I'd like confirmation on the PSU before I start anything. Guess I'll proof-read some pc building guides meanwhile.

I had no idea the Pro 750w came in semi modular as well. thinking.gif If XFX have silently changed something (either the Pro or the BE) I'd be interested to see the internals.

I would definitely return it, though.

Would really like to resolve this, got my exams coming up next week and would like to finish the build before then. Might just use the PSU I got if none knows anything about it, it should at least be somewhat decent considering silver rating and semi-modular.. I think.

I would contact XFX with the photos and ask them directly.....or send Phaedrus2129 a PM since he is the resident PSU guru on OCN

EDIT: Seeing as the box says "Pro 750W" on it, I doubt its the Black Edition.
