Honestly, I'm just as confused as you are. I can't tell you what internals it has unless you feel like opening it up.

From the specs they're giving, it looks like it has the exact same internals as the Black Edition. I'm 99% it's either the same of very similar internals.

Opening it up should confirm it.

Thread Starter
Have had the system up and running for over 2 weeks now, and havn't had any issues. I don't know much about voltages etc though. Thanks for all the replies, guess it will remain a mystery though.

They're both very good units, so I'm not surprised that you are fine with this. For the most part from a user perspective it's very hard to distinguish between similarly performing units, despite quantifable differences in quality.

New units sold by XFX that are gray and 80 Plus Silver rated recently showed up on Newegg as well, so apparently it's not a fluke, just XFX didn't announce it smile.gif I'm guessing that they just decided to get rid of the toxic green fan, and that internally they're identical to the Black Edition units.

Well let's hope so, because that's what i'll be ordering tomorrow. The BE with the green fan has gotten very good reviews. Hoping this new version will perform just as well. I haven't been able to find any reviews on it yet though.

I've been looking at this series of PSU's as well and have found not a lack of reviews of people who had problems with the fan clicking and RMA-ing them. Now what total percentage of people?, I wouldn't know.smile.gif

Well I got the XFX PRO750W XXX Edition (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207016&Tpk=xfx%20750) a few months back and installed it last week with my MSI GTX 560 Ti Hawk and i'm surprised just how quiet it is. It's powering the system in my sig and even under load (Prime95, Afterburner, Furmark, Crysis 1 & 2 for hours) I can't hear it nor does it get warm (although my system is probably pulling about half the 750W at load anyways)

I haven't noticed the coil whining issue others have had with the previous version of the PSU, and hopefully I never will. It's early, but so far i'm pleased.
