Laptop won't boot - Page 2

Still no luck.

Might just get a replacement and scrap it for parts. Have no idea how I would fix and not particularly interested in investing in a HDD if it might not even fix it.

Check the caps, scroll and num lock lights to see if they light up or blink when you power the laptop on. If so, doing a google search or checking the manufacturers website for an error code sheet will tell you exactly whats wrong. However even without a HDD your laptop should boot into bios.

If it's not booting into bios then try resetting cmos. Not sure how thats done on laptops but google is always there to help

Yeah it's not registering any of those keys.

Also, I noticed that the HDD activity thing is only lighting up when the CD drive is closed. Also doesn't even light up when the CD drive is taken out. Perhaps the HDD and CD connectors got mixed up through some unknown magic?
